特別感謝酒研校友的邀請，我們在今年6月時參與了全台灣最動人最美妙的音樂饗宴【玉山星空音樂會-日月潭樂章篇】完整演出名單：

這些是來自台灣本地的天籟美聲、台灣獨特的創意風格改編以及歐洲聲樂家的頂級展演陣容，我們也透過酒研吉祥物Tom的心得，邀請大家一起參與這場美妙音樂會：

If you have never heard this singing before, 8-part harmony is the sound of human emotion transcending its own boundaries. The chords are so beautifully complex and resonant that they generate emotional synergy, overflowing catharsis. Tears come irresistibly. The only musical experience I’ve ever had that even comes close to it was the first time I heard Beethoven’s ‘ODE TO JOY.’

And the concert at Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan, was not the first time I heard this choir singing in 8-part harmony. Two years earlier we heard them sing at the launching of a movie about their rise to fame – LISTEN BEFORE YOU SING – the story of how this aboriginal choir from central Taiwan became famous throughout the music world. The movie is great, very moving, a great success story of prejudice and stultifying tradition overcome by mystery and heartfelt sincerity, but the movie can never equal the magical resonance of these natural voices singing from the heart of nature, and so we seized the chance to attend the concert this Spring and took our entire company to share the experience.

The singers come from 15 villages in Xinyi Township, and they have gathered immense momentum thanks to years of hard work from volunteers. The group is now fully established as the Yuan Sheng International Academy, with its Senior High School in Tamshui (near Taipei) and an elementary and middle school on the serene shore of Sun Moon Lake.

Hundreds of volunteers helped to put together and run this performance, and TWA pulled out all the stops to get us all there. The show went far beyond the Choir to include Jazz performances, percussion performances and guest appearances from renowned opera stars based in Vienna, Austria. The mix was wonderfully eclectic, but there was no mistaking the stars of the ensemble. If you can get tickets for the next performance, so whatever you have to do to get there. It’s a musical revelation, unique in the world.

2. 同富村（Bunun : Hosa，和社）：以漢人為主。(in Chinese : Tongfu)
3. 神木村以漢人為主。(in Chinese : Shenmu)
4. 望美村（Bunun : Namakaban，楠仔腳萬）：以鄒族為主。(in Chinese : Wangmei)
5. 羅娜村（Bunun : Luluna，羅娜）(in Chinese : Luona)
