Euan Malcolm Mackay
Born in France of British parents in 1965, Euan was educated in England at Twyford School and then Marlborough College. He completed his studies at Birmingham University where he achieved an Honours degree (BSc) in Civil Engineering.
Euan joined the wine trade in 1987 working for Tanners Wines before beginning his association with the Symington Family in 1990 as a salesman for their distributor, John E Fells and Sons. During this period he continued his studies achieving his WSET Diploma and the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma.
He joined Symington Family Estates in 1996, as their Business Development Manager responsible for sales and marketing for France, the Benelux and Asia.
In 2008, having moved to Portugal with his wife and two children (Form 9 and 6, OBS) a couple of years before, Euan was appointed to the board as Sales Director with responsibility for developing the sales and distribution of Symington Port and Douro Doc brands worldwide.
He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is involved in various other associations including the Factory House in Oporto where he was the Treasurer in 2015.
In 2010 together with Nick Heath from Taylors he created the Vintage Port Academy. The main purpose of this association is to promote the appreciation and knowledge of Vintage Port in Asia. Several well attended workshops and other events have been organised in Beijing, Macao, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
